Matthias Lücke is a senior researcher and member of the Kiel Institute’s management board, an adjunct professor at Kiel University, and a former senior economist at the International Monetary Fund. He studied economics at Cologne, London (LSE), and Gießen.
His research and teaching focus on migration, development, international trade policy, and European integration. He has consulted widely for national governments and international organizations. Currently, he coordinates the Mercator Dialogue on Asylum and Migration (MEDAM).
